New Finance Director appointed to Mobile Doctors

Mark Dillon has been appointed to the position of Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary of the Mobile Doctors Group Plc (MDG), the UK’s foremost provider of medico-legal evidence.

Mark, formerly MDG's Group Financial Controller, was promoted to the position following the elected early retirement of MDG veteran, David Osborne, who had been with MDG for over 20 years.   Mark has taken over and will be developing the effective financial processes that have contributed to the sustained growth of MDG in recent years.

Commenting on his appointment, Mark Dillon said "2008 was a big year for Mobile Doctors, with the consolidated financial statements for the year showing a 30% increase in turnover.  It was great to be a part of that in my first year at the company, and I am looking forward to taking over the financial reigns and continuing David's sterling work."

In 1985, Mark started his career with British Telecom, going on to co-found a business providing services to the emerging UK cable television sector and was also instrumental in establishing a network of local broadcast television stations across the UK. Mark trained with KPMG as a Chartered Accountant and for the four years before joining Mobile Doctors was based in St Albans with clients in the HR services, retail and medico-legal sectors.

Matthew Game, Chief Executive of the Mobile Doctors group, commented "Mark joined us in 2008 as a definite part of our succession plans.  2009 promises to be a good year for the Group, with a number of exciting developments underway.  We see Mark's involvement as fundamental to the realisation of our plans and wish him all the best in his new role."

Mobile Doctors had an outstanding financial year in 2008, with an increase in turnover from £16.7 million to £21.7 million and a significant increase in profits before tax from £287,000 to £501,000.  Bank debt was reduced by £1.5 million and administration costs as a percentage of turnover were also significantly diminished.
